The archive
Roughly 250,000 photographs, added to continuously and still in use. It is a working source rather than a closed record: current projects are assembled from material shot across the whole span of it.
What is in it
Documentary and travel photography from Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas, together with video shot on the same assignments. The Asian material is the deepest, covering the region continuously and still growing.
Licensing
Photography is distributed through Getty Images and through Hemis in France.
Individual video clips are licensed exclusively through Getty Images; it is the only place the raw footage can be cleared.
The finished films are not stock and are not held there. Screenings, broadcast and licensing of a complete film are arranged directly.
Access
The database is at stock.pistolesiphoto.com. Access is requested from the log-in page and granted to professional users.
